Who Is FaithOnline? Our Mission and Vision
Are you hungry for spiritual depth and desiring to grow deeper as a disciple? Are you longing for more authentic Christian community in our digital world? If so, you’re exactly where you need to be.
Welcome to FaithOnline!
We are grateful to have you join our community - we created it just for you. In a recent post, we did a deep dive into Acts 2:42-47 to see what we as followers of Jesus can learn from the beginning of the church, today. We see a church devoted to the Scriptures, community, prayer, generosity, unity, and evangelism. We, the Church today, are to have the same devotion to these things. At FaithOnline, we want to have a digital space where we can live out the devotion and commitment of that early church in Acts.
Are you hungry for spiritual depth and desiring to grow deeper as a disciple? Are you tired of combing through mounds of content, wondering if what you’re finding is biblical and can be trusted? Are you longing for more authentic Christian community in our digital world? If so, you’re exactly where you need to be.
In this post, we are going to share more about who we are at FaithOnline: our vision and mission, who we’re for, why we’re needed in our current cultural moment, and why FaithOnline is for you.
FaithOnline’s Mission and Vision
At FaithOnline, we desire to be a digital, Gospel-centered community recreating what the early church experienced: believers devoted to trusted teaching, authentic community, and gathering together daily, both corporately and in homes. They showcased that the church is meant to gather more than just once a week, and as our lives are increasingly lived in the digital world, we also need a place for believers to gather online. FaithOnline provides the space to do this.
We exist to equip believers. We are a formation-first organization, not technology-first. We desire to practically and spiritually equip believers to follow Jesus well in this world. We are not trying to build a platform, but rather seeking to build the Kingdom of God. We want every piece of content at FaithOnline to spiritually form, equip, and encourage you in your walk with Christ. To help accomplish this, every piece of content and every content creator is vetted by a theological review team for theological soundness and biblical faithfulness. We desire to encourage all believers who come here to love God with all their hearts, love others as much as we love ourselves, and go into all the world and make more disciples of Jesus.
Who is FaithOnline for?
FaithOnline is for any believer who is seeking Christ-centered community. We are not meant to follow Jesus alone, but too often believers find themselves lonely and isolated. We are for any follower of Jesus seeking to grow in their faith. At FaithOnline, you can be confident that you will always find trusted, biblical content. We are also for Christian creators who are tired of their content being pushed down and aside by algorithms that only promote viral posts and seek to entertain. FaithOnline is a vetted, formation-first space where our users are hungry for the content you are creating - an audience that desires to go deeper.
Why is FaithOnline needed now?
According to a Christianity Today study, more than 40% of Millennials consume religious and spiritual content online, and for most, they look to that content to enrich their spiritual lives. A recent Barna study shared that most Christians today are looking for churches to have a stronger and better online presence. This tells us believers are searching and longing for content online that will help them grow as disciples. In our current digital world, this should technically be easy to provide. At any given moment, there is an overabundance of online content claiming to be spiritually beneficial and Scripturally accurate. The good news is that Christian content has never been easier to access for believers across the globe. The unfortunate news is that not all Christian content is biblical or spiritually helpful, and the Church has not been able to keep up with the amount and accessibility of online content. This presents a challenge for believers who are searching for solid content we can trust, that will help us live more like Jesus. This is why FaithOnline is needed now. Paul tells us in 2 Timothy 4:3-5 that:
“For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, will multiply teachers for themselves because they have an itch to hear what they want to hear. They will turn away from hearing the truth and will turn aside to myths. But as for you, exercise self-control in everything, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” (CSB)
There are so many Christian teachers available for people to listen to and be formed by, but too often the content produced is shallow, fragmented, and distracting. Too often, it cannot be trusted. We need a grounded, Christ-centered home with content that is actually forming us into people who live and look like Jesus. And we need it now. FaithOnline is here to fulfill this work. We believe this is our ministry. We are here to help disciples of Jesus be formed, not just provide content for them to consume. We are here to help people fulfill the Great Commandment, pointing them towards a loving God and others the way Christ calls. We are here to advance the Kingdom of God, make disciples of all nations, and fulfill the Great Commission. We are here to provide believers with a God-honoring, gospel-centered community that allows them to connect regularly.
